From director Stefan Ruzowitzky, an unprecedented global pandemic of a super strain of rabies has resulted in the evolution of a new species driven by violence. An inexplicably immune human survivor with the ability to communicate with this new species must spearhead a hunt for Patient Zero in order to find a cure to save his infected wife and humanity. Sanaa Lathan (“Alien vs. Predator”) has joined the cast of “Now You See Me 2”, playing an FBI agent. Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, as well as newcomers Lizzy Caplan, Jay Chou and Daniel Radcliffe star. (Deadline)
“Hobbit” star Martin Freeman is in talks to join Tina Fey in “Taliban Shuffle”. Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are directing the black comedy, based on war journalist Kim Barker’s memoir. “The book recounts Barker’s arrival as a fish out of water in Kabul, filing stories about militants, being a woman in wartime Iraq and Pakistan and dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of violence and the promiscuous war-correspondent culture.” Freeman will play Fey’s unexpected love interest, a dedicated Scottish photojournalist. Bryce Dallas Howard (“Terminator : Salvation”) is in talks to join Disney’s “Pete’s Dragon” reboot. Howard, who would join Robert Redford in the film, would play a forest ranger who doesn’t believe the young boy’s stories about the dragon (initially). (The Hollywood Reporter)
