Night Moves
Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) and Dakota Fanning are negotiating to star in “Night Moves”, an indie thriller directed by Kelly Reichardt, who has a number of short films to her credit, including “Meek’s Cutoff”.
According to Variety, they will join Peter Sarsgaard as a trio of eco-terrorists, who plan to blow up a dam. Sarsgaard will be the master bomb-maker, Eisenberg the ringleader and Fanning a young millionaire who is the money behind the whole operation.
Dakota Fanning (who will soon get her Twi-hard on again in “Breaking Dawn Part 2”) and Jesse Eisenberg both replace other actors previously linked to the film – Paul Dano and Rooney Mara.
Plush
TV’s “House of Lies” star Dawn Olivieri has apparently signed on to feature in an erotic thriller “Plush”, which will be Catherine Hardwicke’s follow-up to “Red Riding Hood”.
THR says Olivieri, who’s impressed as the ruthless and sexy ex-girlfriend of Don Cheadle’s character in “Lies”, will play the second female lead behind Emily Browning, alongside two Twilight alum- Xavier Samuel and Cam Gigandet.
Browning’s character is a rising rock star who befriends her band’s replacement guitarist (Samuel), after her brother dies from an overdose. Only thing is – Samuel’s character turns out to be a bit crazy, and there’s a whole lot of sex-stuff going on, complicating things with her hubby (Gigandet).
Olivieri will play their band’s manager. Sounds like an interesting one!
Last Vegas
Mary Steenburgen, who has recently appeared in “The Help”, will join Robert de Niro, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline and Michael Douglas in “Last Vegas” – aka “The Hangover” for the 60+ age bracket.
Deadline says Steenburgen will play a sultry lounge singer in Las Vegas, who complicates Michael Douglas’ bucks night – where he’s finally about to tie the knot.
His fellow-retiree pals are all there for the big bachelor party – putting their younger selves to shame, no doubt.
It’s being scripted by Dan Fogelman who excelled in “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and directed by Jon Turteltaub (“Cool Runnings”, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”).
