Casting : Thorne, Mara, Helms, Holtz

Bella Thorne will reunite with her “Midnight Sun” director Scott Speer on the film adaptation of YA novel “Break My Heart 1,000 Times”.

Jason Fuchs (“Wonder Woman”) will adapt the project, “set after a cataclysmic event has torn the barrier between our world and the next, leaving Remnants — ghostlike essences of the deceased — part of everyday life. After years of quiet coexistence with the living, a Remnant sends a threatening message to a young girl, propelling her on a mission that will forever change the course of her life.”

Kate Mara (“Fantastic Four”) and Ed Helms (“Vacation”) are joining Jason Clarke in John Curran’s “Chappaquiddick”.

“Mara will star in the pivotal role of Mary Jo Kopechne, the 28-year-old, smart, vivacious teacher and campaign aide to Robert Kennedy who was the passenger in the car of Sen. Ted Kennedy (Clarke) when the car he was driving plunged into the water off a one-lane bridge. Kopechne became trapped in the overturned, submerged car while Kennedy escaped. He then failed to report the accident to police and instead that night reached out to two others — a cousin and friend — to help him.” Helms will play the cousin Joe Gargan.

Zane Holtz (“From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series”) is joining Millennium Films’ “Hunter Killer”. The story of an untested sub captain teamed with an elite military unit to rescue the Russian president from an ongoing military coup stars Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman, Billy Bob Thornton, Common, and Taylor John Smith. Holtz is playing “Martinelli,” a courageous, skilled member of the elite unit that is part of 21st century American military power.

Donovan Marsh directs.
