With Batman (Robert Pattinson) a lock, WB writing up contracts for their Commissioner Gordon (Jeffrey Wright has been offered the part) and The Riddler (Josh Gad, believe it or not, is in talks), GWW reports on a short list for the role of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.
According to the site, Lupita Nyong’o, Tessa Thompson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, ‘Alexandra Shipp, and Logan Browning are on the wish-list for the role of the slinky femme fatale.
First we’ve heard those names mentioned in relation to the role – Vanessa Kirby and Florence Pugh were said to be contenders a while back – but that’s not to say there’s no juice here. Could well be on the money.. time will tell.
The script, which reportedly sees the caped crusader taking on a “rogue’s gallery” of villains, will also featured The Penguin and Firefly, among others.
“The Batman”, directed by Matt Reeves, is due in theaters June 2021.
