Despite the rumours, it’s looking like the ‘Tom Welling is in Batman Begins’ rumour was a hoax. Superman-V.com talked to a WB publicist who said she knew nothing about. In addition, Blue Tights talked to "Smallville" producer Jeph Loeb who said you can basically rule out Welling playing "Superman" on the big screen too – he’s committed to "Smallville". "It would be great to have Tom play Superman in the movie – it’s the perfect transition. But that would push the movie back two years since we’re planning through Season 6 at least and that’s not going to happen", he says.
Meanwhile, Superman-V is reporting that Daniel Cudmore, Colossus from "X-Men 2", has auditioned for the role of Superman.
Finally, there’s a note from Comic book writer Mark Miller on his official site saying he knows who has got the role. "You remember I told you to relax about Superman? That a very, very trusted and experienced director we’d all love was coming over? That McG was just a blip? That everything would be fine?
