Chadwick Boseman, the newly-announced star of Marvel’s “Black Panther”, will star in the revenge thriller “Message from the King”.
Per Deadline, the Entertainment One and Ink Factory production will feature Boseman as a South African man out for vengeance in Los Angeles.
Fabrice du Welz directs.
Boseman, whose other credits include “42” and “Get On Up”, plays “Jacob King, who arrives from South Africa in search of his younger sister with just a few hundred dollars and a plane ticket home in a week’s time. Twenty-four hours in, he learns she’s been killed and the film tells the story of what happens in the next six days.”
Stephen Cornwell and Oliver Butcher wrote the film, which lenses in L.A in February – just before Boseman goes off to work on “Captain America : Civil War”, making his debut as Black Panther.
