Chan, Carnahan revive Five Against a Bullet

Here’s a match made in action-movie heaven : Jackie Chan and Joe Carnahan, teaming for long-gestating Lorenzo diBonaventura actioner “Five Against a Bullet”.

The “A-Team” and “Smokin’ Aces” helmer would direct the legendary martial artist in a film that follows a man’s run for mayor in Mexico after the death of his father at the hands of a drug cartel and the team of elite bodyguards who are tasked with protecting him.

Chan will be playing one of the bodyguards in a scenario that’s apparently envisioned to launch a franchise.

Bruce Willis had been attached to the project back in 2010.

The Tracking Board, who have the scoop, say the film is without a home after losing it’s last studio, Columbia Pictures.

Carnahan is rewriting the script, originally drafted by Alex Litvak.
