Characters revealed for Joss Whedon’s S.H.I.E.L.D TV Series

TVLine have apparently got their remote-chafed hands on the character descriptions of some of the main meat in Joss Whedon’s upcoming “S.H.I.E.L.D” TV series, recently greenlit at ABC.

Here are some (I’m guessing there’ll be a couple of recognizable/name characters announced further down the track; these are probably the smaller parts that are up for grabs, thus why they’ve started to do the rounds. If there’s a ‘Nick Fury’ or ‘Maria Hill’ on the show it’s likely the producers went straight to offer and have cast notable thesps in the parts. Another possible scenario is that the character names listed below are ‘fake’ and the advertised parts really are for Nick Fury and so on) of the characters we’ll be seen on the “Avengers” spin-off series :

SKYE: This late-20s woman sounds like a dream: fun, smart, caring and confident – with an ability to get the upper hand by using her wit and charm.

AGENT GRANT WARD: Quite the physical specimen and “cool under fire,” he sometimes botches interpersonal relations. He’s a quiet one with a bit of a temper, but he’s the kind of guy that grows on you.

AGENT ALTHEA RICE: Also known as “The Calvary,” this hard-core soldier has crazy skills when it comes to weapons and being a pilot. But her experiences have left her very quiet and a little damaged.

AGENT LEO FITZ and AGENT JEMMA SIMMONS: These two came through training together and still choose to spend most of their time in each other’s company. Their sibling-like relationship is reinforced by their shared nerd tendencies – she deals with biology and chemistry, he’s a whiz at the technical side of weaponry.

Whedon has yet to reveal whether any of the characters from the Marvel movies will appear on the show, or for that matter whether he’ll be using any of his regular go-to talent (Eliza Dushku?), but I’d say there’s a few chance of both happening.

Has NBC nixed it’s Munsters reboot… or not?!
