Charlize Theron to play Megyn Kelly

Charlize Theron will play American journalist, political commentator, and former corporate defense attorney Megyn Kelly in a new film for “Recount” director Jay Roach.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Annapurna Pictures’ untitled feature will fix on the women of Fox News Channel who worked there during the tenure of Roger Ailes, the chairman and network architect who resigned in 2016 amid a sexual and workplace harassment scandal.

Kelly, a former lawyer who was a Fox News anchor for over a decade, rose up through the ranks from legal contributor to host of the popular series The Kelly File. Fox News reportedly tried to pressure her to come out in support of Ailes, but she refused.

Charles Randolph (“The Big Short”) wrote the pic.

Theron will be one of several big names reportedly cast in the ensemble production. Characters included are likely to be Carlson, former anchor Greta Van Susteren, media mogul Rupert Murdoch and fired host Bill O’Reilly.
