Max Landis, the writer of sci-fi flick “Chronicle” has a new gig – creating a new TV series for Fox titled “Vigilant”.
According to THR, he’ll team up with Howard Gordon (creator of the excellent “Homeland”) and this is what they say it’s about:
“The project is described as a “superhero” origin story told through the unlikely point of view of a smart 20-year-old woman who happens to be a social outcast. After an honorable veteran detective is brutally coerced into working for the corrupt head of Internal Affairs, the detective’s daughter plans her revenge by creating a fictional vigilante persona to take on the criminal elements within the police department and the city.”
Well, I’m not too sure about the “superhero” part, because Max Landis himself took to his Twitter page to make some comments:
“Chronicle”, by the way, pulled in more than $125 million at the box office, directed by first-time feature maker Josh Trank – on a measly budget for a film of that magnitude.
I’m looking forward to seeing Landis and Gordon’s work; the script certainly sounds interesting.
