Clarice Starling coming to Hannibal?

With the ‘Red Dragon’ storyline playing out this year on TV’s “Hannibal”, is the ‘Silence of the Lambs’ storyline set to be the story bones of the fourth?

While show runner Brad Fuller was previously unable to use the character of Clarice Starling, due to rights issues (and the fact another network had been developing a series on the character), things might have changed.

“It doesn’t involve Clarice at that stage”, Fuller tells IGN of their fourth season plans, but “there may be a version where you do this radical departure for the first half and then do Silence of the Lambs for the second half, but that is all contingent on the rights for Clarice. The further and further away we get from procedurals, it’s hard to imagine returning to the FBI to tell more stories unless we do have Clarice to really freshen up that world.”

Jodie Foster won an Oscar for her portrayal of Starling in 1991’s “Silence of the Lambs”, with Julianne Moore taking over the character for bigscreen sequel “Hannibal”.
