Seems to be a truckload of remakes around at the moment – I’m still reeling over that "Pet Sematary" remake though. How old does a film have to be these days before it’s retooled? That film was made in 1989, a year after say, "Die Hard". Could that be next?? Sounds like nothing is sacred after all.

  • MediaSharx report a rumour that George Clooney is up for the lead role in a remake of “Pet Sematary”.

  • Actor Ian Bliss told WhatDVD that “Man-Thing” is reminiscent of “the Hulk”, predominantly because the creature is CGI and created on the computer. He has high hopes for it though. “They were trying to get a nice atmospheric horror film happening…it could be a cult film…they certainly shot it with a lot of mood”.

  • Morris Chestnut and Eddie Cibrian join Cole Hauser in “Prime Evil”, about a group of hotshot cave divers who get trapped in an underground cave system. They are then forced to battle demonic creatures when they attempt to escape.

  • Gabriel Byrne and Brian Dennehy have joined the cast of “Assault on Precent 13”. Dark Horizons says Busta Rhymes is also up for a role.

  • Damon Dash is directing "State Property II," a sequel to the 2002 flick, about three gangsters fighting to control the streets of Philadelphia. Beanie Sigel is reprising his "State Property" role as Beans, an imprisoned drug lord, while Dash will play Dame, a Harlem-born hustler with deep pockets and strong allies. The cast also includes Victor Santiago as Loco, a flashy Miami playboy soon to be released from prison.

  • Regina King [“Scary Movie”] is in talks to play a fellow FBI agent in “Miss Congeniality 2” opposite Sandra Bullock.

  • Heath Ledger has signed on for Lasse Hallstrom’s "Casanova," a romantic comedy about the legendary Casanova and his pursuit of the one woman in Venice who doesn’t fall prey to his charm.

  • Amber Tamblyn [“Joan of Arcadia”] will star in Ken Kwapis’s “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”, about four friends during the first summer they are separated from one another. They vow to keep in touch by circulating a magical pair of secondhand jeans that fits each of them perfectly.

  • Jeremy Renner [SWAT] has joined the escalating cast of “Lords of Dogtown” over at Columbia.

  • According to the SMH, Disney in Australia are working on “Lilo and Stitch 2”.

  • Superhero Hype reports that actor Gerard Murphy [“Waterworld”] might have a role in “Batman Begins”. He’s no relation to Cillian Murphy, who plays ‘The Scarecrow’ in the film.

  • Kevin Smith told MTV that he’s met with his no.1 choice for “Green Hornet” and that the meeting went well. Rumour says it could be George Clooney.

  • According to a scooper for Coming Soon, plans are underway to film two “Pirates of the Caribbean” sequels back to back –but Johnny Depp is only signed for one of those.

  • Keanu Reeves starrer “Constantine” has been pushed back from September 17th to February 11th, 2005. Quite a delay…

  • TheForce.net reports that an “Episode III” Doco will be on the upcoming classic trilogy DVD set.

  • Isaiah Washington [“Clockers”] and “Roswell” babe Katharine Heigl will star in a new series for Touchstone TV, centering on female residents in a surgical training program. Washington will play Dr. Burke, a top surgeon at the hospital, a show dog and son of the hospital’s chief of surgery (James Pickens Jr.). Heigl will play an intern.

  • Screenwriter Jeffrey Redrick, talking to Fangoria about his next flick “Tamara”, says the next “Final Destination” movie will indeed be in 3D – but he won’t be involved.

  • Monday March 29 8pm. That’s when the Charlie Sheen sitcom “Two and a Half Men” premieres on Channel 9 down under.
