Courtney, Clarke talks Terminator : Genesis

Jai Courtney, out pimping “Divergent”, tells Skewed and Reviewed that he’s “pumped” to begin work on the new “Terminator” movie.

The Aussie actor, set to play Sarah Connor’s snuggle-buddy Kyle Reese in “Terminator : Genesis”, said he’s a big fan of the franchise.

“I still like watching the first one”, he says. “[Terminator : Genesis is] getting together quickly, I’ll be getting into that in April – which I’m pumped about.”

Courtney said he has also given up alcohol, so he can be at his fittest for the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starrer.

Courtney’s co-star Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”), who plays Sarah Connor, says she too is restricting her carbs at the moment. In fact, she says, she’s “giving up anything that tastes good at all.”

“I’ve been spending all day every day, in weapons training. I’ve been shooting guns, weightlifting, kickboxing and generally kicking a lot of ass,” she tells InStyleUK.

Last week, Arnold Schwarzenegger told The Arnold Fans that he’s excited to be back playing an actual ‘part’ in a “Terminator” movie – as opposed to merely doing a computer-generated cameo, like he did in “Terminator : Salvation”.

”We start filming in the middle or in the end of April and it will be a four or four-and-a-half month long shoot. We will be filming it in New Orleans with some of it in San Francisco and maybe a little of it in LA but most of it will be done in New Orleans. I’m really looking forward to that because as you know, the last time when they did the Terminator, it was when I was Governor and so I couldn’t be in that movie but now I’m back again and they are very excited about having me in the film. And David Ellison, who has produced all the big movies lately, has plenty of money to do it well. He’s in partnership with Paramount Pictures who are going to release the movie through their distribution. I’m really looking forward to that and it’s going to come out on July 4th weekend in 2015. The movie preparation is going well. The script is fantastic so I’m really looking forward to this film.”

“Terminator : Genesis”, also starring Jason Clarke as John Connor, will be directed by Alan Taylor.
