An oddly timed announcement about a new Spider-Man series for Disney Junior occured today at D23.
“Marvel’s Spidey and His Amazing Friends” was announced during the Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment panel at Disney’s D23 Expo on Friday evening.
“Preschool kids already love Spidey, so they’ll be delighted to have Peter Parker thwipping across their screens in this new series” Cort Lane, SVP, Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment, said today.
In the series, Peter Parker’s Spidey teams with Miles Morales, Ghost-Spider, Hulk, Black Panther and Ms.Marvel to “defeat the evil foes and learn that teamwork is the best way to save the day”.
The news comes at the end of a tough week for the “Spider-Man” universe, with Sony announcing that Marvel would no longer be involved in the feature films.
