John Moore, director of the lacklustre "Flight of the Phoenix" remake, has been hired to bring "The Omen" (1976) back to screens, says Variety.

"The Omen 666" is a direct remake of the Gregory Peck starring original, about the arrival of the Antichrist in the home of an unsuspecting family.

Dan McDermott is apparently updating the script to be set in the modern-day. It goes before the cameras in October.
