Damon heads to U.S TV!

I love it when good things happen to good people, but this is that extra bit special.

Good pal of mine, Aussie actor Damon Herriman has just snagged a plum gig in a potentially big-time U.S series – and I’m prouder than a ghetto mum on graduation day. It was evident that Damon was definitely on his way in tinseltown, having snagged small roles in the likes of David Mamet’s “Redbelt” and TVs “Cold Case”, so it doesn’t come as a shock that he’s snagged a role in the new NBC series “Lost & Found”, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less back slap worthy.

Herriman, who most of you’ll know as George from Aussie TV hit “Love My Way” (or as in the classic Melbournian comedy “The Big Steal”), will star opposite Katee ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Sackhoff in the series.

She plays Tessa Cooper, an offbeat LAPD detective who, after butting heads with higher-ups, is sent as punishment to the basement to work on John and Jane Doe cases. He plays Anthony Yeckel, an oddball civilian consultant to the police’s lost-and-found department who has an obsessive love of old detective TV shows.

If you’ve seen any of Herriman in anything – be it the aforementioned series, or the films “Candy”, “The Square” or “Ned” (he was probably the best thing in Joel Silver’s “House of Wax” redo, too) – you’ll know he’s going to hit this one out of the park.

Merry Christmas mate – and well done.
