Iconic rocker David Bowie has passed away from a secret 18-month battle with cancer.
The 69-year-old musician and actor, known for such classics as Let’s Dance, Space Oddity, Heroes, Under Pressure, Rebel, Rebel, Life on Mars and Suffragette City, died surrounded by friends and family.
Bowie’s son, filmmaker Duncan Jones (“Moon”, “Source Code”) confirmed the news on Twitter.
Very sorry and sad to say it’s true. I’ll be offline for a while. Love to all. pic.twitter.com/Kh2fq3tf9m

The singer only released his latest album Blackstar on his birthday on Friday.
Bowie hadn’t performed live since 2006.
Though best known for his music, Bowie was also an accomplished actor – appearing in such classics as “Labyrinth” and “Absolute Beginners”, as well as David Lynch’s cult classic “Twin Peaks : Fire Walk With Me”.
Our condolences go out to Bowie’s friends, family and many fans.
