David Leitch in early talks to direct Fast and the Furious spin-off ft. The Rock

David Leitch is looking to get fast and furious, and is in early talks to direct the spin-off film starring Dwayne Johnson’s (Luke Hobbs) and Jason Statham’s (Deckard Shaw) characters.

Leitch is directed the upcoming “Deadpool 2”, and also directed “Atomic Blonde”, and as THR reports, is in talks to join the F&F family. The spinoff has been given a release date of July 26, 2019, and has been written by F&F veteran Chris Morgan.

Not much, and by that I mean nothing, is known about the upcoming spin-off, apart from that it will star Johnson and Statham in their familiar roles. Leitch is well known for his amazing action-sequences, which will no doubt work well within the F&F universe.

Side note, does Johnson actually still like being called “The Rock” in the context of acting? If anyone has an answer, email me. If he doesn’t, I sincerely apologise, Mr Dwayne Johnson and your enormous muscles.
