Leonardo DiCaprio will produce and star in a biopic on acclaimed music producer Sam Phillips.
According to Deadline, the Paramount Pictures prod will be based on the Peter Guralnick book “Sam Phillips : The Man Who Invented Rock ‘N’ Roll”, and chronicle the tiny Memphis-based producer’s rise to fame as the man who helped bring Elvis Presely, Ike Turner, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Johnny Cash to the masses.
Among the producers on the project, rock legend Mick Jagger.
A writer and director is expected to be set shortly.
