With full reign to now do so, Disney has decided to rename 20th Century Fox and its subsidiaries, including Fox Searchlight.
The house of mouse has renamed the studio as just 20th Century Studios. Its art house production company, Fox Searchlight, will now be known as Searchlight Pictures.
You’ll see the Searchlight Pictures’ name on “Downhill,” a drama/comedy starring Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, out February 14. The next week, on Feb 21, you’ll see the new 20th Century Studios name on Harrison Ford starrer “Call of the Wild”.
The iconic fanfare heard at the start of such classic Fox movies as “Star Wars” and “Aliens” is no more.
