Dreyfuss and Midler reunite!

“Down and Out in Beverly Hills” duo back together

Dick Dreyfuss. The Divine Miss M.

Back together?!

Who said cinematic comedy had gone to the Hogs?… um, er, Dogs?!

For the first time since 1986s “Down and Out in Beverly Hills”, Richard Dreyfuss and Bette Midler will be sharing that creamy multiplex screen. They’ve both signed up to star in “Lust for Life” a new Disney comedy from director Garry Marshall (“Pretty Woman”).

From the pen of Jillian Tohber (“Candleshoe”), “Life” tells of a seventysomething widower (Dreyfuss, in a role his he was frickin’ born to play) who becomes more free-spirited and romantic when he retires, unnerving his fortysomething children and delighting his adoring teen grandson.

No Nick Nolte digging out of cash-bins nearby… but it all sounds good to me.

Good to see Disney hasn’t completely gone “Wild”.
