Edgerton nearly caught in Web

When I interviewed Joel Edgerton earlier this year for “Ned Kelly”, he revealed that he had recently done an audition for the upcoming “Superman” movie. While it didn’t sound like he’d gotten a call back, he did drop some details – saying that it was for the villain part, some guy who makes Supes life on Krypton torturous. Anyway, Superhero Hype has received word that “Superman” isn’t the only comic book vehicle the Aussie actor has tested for.

According to the site, Edgerton talked to Reuben Ham and said "It’s funny you say that. Two of the things that I was asked to meet on [in the US] were to play villains in both a Superman movie and Spider-Man 2..I was definitely too scruffy for the Spider-Man villain – he needed to be an astronaut… and we don’t know whether Superman’s going ahead or not, but I’d like to be the guy that points Kryptonite at him – that would be fun," he smirks. Daniel Gillies ended up getting the part, John Jameson. Edgerton indicates he’s a villain – which means we might be seeing Man-Wolf in the sequel, or at least a film down the track. Meantime, for some huge spoilers on Spider-Man 2 check out this report at Superhero Hype.
