Emma Stone is JFK’s sister in Letters From Rosemary

Emma Stone is attached to the Black List spec script “Letters From Rosemary”, which centres on the sister of President John F. Kennedy.

Stone will play the titular role in the film that centres on Rose Marie “Rosemary” Kennedy – the eldest sister of President John F. Kennedy and senators Robert F. Kennedy and Ted Kennedy – who underwent one of the first prefrontal lobotomies in history.

Variety reports: “After displaying behavioral problems that caused her to fall behind the achievements of her siblings due to a mental disability that was long kept secret, Joseph Kennedy arranged one of the first prefrontal lobotomies for her when she was 23. The procedure was botched and left her permanently incapacitated.”

The script follows Rosemary in the lead up to the procedure and explores how it affected the family.

Producers are Steve Golin and Doug Wald with Allard Cantor, Jarrod Murray and Richard Arlook.
