Ernest Dickerson to resurrect Dracula!

With Javier Bardem playing captain fangs himself

Ernest Dickerson (“Juice”, “Never Die Alone”) is about to take a bite out of the Bram Stoker bible.

According to Blackfilm, the filmmaker has been coaxed into directing the official sequel to ‘Dracula’ – that’s the ol’ Bela Lugosi thing, not the ol’ Keanu Crapped-on-it thing – called “The Un-Dead”.

Rising star Javier Bardem (“The Sea Inside”) will play plastic-fangs Dracula himself; buxom beauty Monica Bellucci (“The Matrix Reloaded”) is his beloved Lucy, and John Hurt – aptly cast, if I say so myself – holds the stake as the iconic Professor ‘Van Helsing’.

Based on a script by Ian Holt and set 25 years after the original book’s events, the film sees the surviving protagonists, including Jonathan and Mina Harker and Professor Van Helsing, appear, along with Inspector Cotford, a character cut from the original manuscript, facing the bloodsucking Count once again.

Jan de Bont produces.
