Fox has picked up “Exit Strategy”, a pilot starring Ethan Hawke in his first full-time televisual offering.
Antoine Fuqua, who directed Hawke in “Training Day” (and in April begins shooting the Tupac Shakur biopic), will direct. The series, says THR, is a “high-octane action show about a CIA extraction team.” (Sounds not unlike “24”, which Fox recently waved ‘ta-ta’ too).
Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, the cashed-up duo behind “Transformers” and “Star Trek”, wrote the series.
Hawke’s only TV credits thus far include the telemovie “Moby Dick” (2010) and guest stints on “Alias” and “Robot Chicken”.
