Exclusive : Ferrara exits Game

Abel Ferrara has exited Columbia’s “Game of Death”, the actioner that was set to reunite the acclaimed filmmaker with his “King of New York” (1990) star (well, Chris Walken was realtl the star of that show, but you know what I mean..) Wesley Snipes.

We haven’t been informed why Ferrara has left, only that the film will now be directed by Giorgio Serafini.

“Death”, currently lensing in Detroit, stars Wesley Snipes as a diplomat’s bodyguard who is injured in a botched assassination attempt. The bodyguard and his company all taken to the same hospital, where the former teams up with a nurse (Zoe Bell) to protect the diplomat from a team of ruthless assassins led by Zander (“Expendables” star Gary Daniels). The nurse soon learns that there is more to this sticky situation than expected.

Ferrara, whose best-known films include “Bad Lieutenant” and “China Girl”, is currently attached to direct Berry Hill Films’ “Jekyll & Hyde” starring Forest Whitaker and 50 Cent.
