JK Rowling reveals 5 Fantastic Beasts movies are on their way!

“Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling has announced that the upcoming “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” will be the first of five movies.

When the film was first announced, we knew it was the first of a planned trilogy however, during a Facebook Live Q&A, Rowling revealed new plans for two more films.

“We were doing some script sessions the other day and we always knew it was going to be more than one movie. We always knew that from the start. We said a trilogy as a placeholder because we knew there would be more than one movie. Now I think we can say, I’ve done the plotting properly so we’re pretty sure it’s going to be five movies.”

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is set to open on November 18 this year. The following two films will the release on November 16, 2018 and November 20, 2020. While nothing has been announced yet, we can probably assume the final two installments will follow in a similar pattern.

David Yates is directing “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” from J.K. Rowling’s screenplay, which goes back into her infamous wizarding world. Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Jenn Murray, Jon Voight, Carmen Ejogo, Gemma Chan and Faith Wood-Blagrove star in the film.
