Feldman on Lost Boys 3

The always amiable Corey Feldman tells readers on his official site that [despite the success of “Lost Boys 2 : The Tribe” on DVD; biggest selling release of the year if I recall?] there’s no guarantee a third film will ever happen.

”’There is still no word that Warner Brothers is going to make it”, the actor, currently promoting his album Technology Analogy, declares. ”Although I do see it being a lot more likely than Goonies 2″.

Indeed.

That is surprising- that Warner have yet to tie the Felddog turn to a second sequel. The first sequel might’ve evoked sighs from quite a few fans of the original (but wasn’t it always going to?) but its paid for most of the presents sitting under the Warner Bros Christmas Party tree. It seriously made a mint for the company. You’d think they’d have already greased the wheels on a third film and got that up and going with director P.J Pesce (who’s about to helm the sequel to “Smokin’ Aces” for Universal) for ’09. Are they waiting for anything in particular? The Corey’s to shake hands and make-up, perhaps? or for Joel Schumacher to return to helm a big-screen threequel? (now there’s a dream) The saxophone guy to lose the gut?

If a third ”Lost Boys” film were to happen it’d likely pick up where the last film left off – with vampire hunter “and surfboard shaper” Edgar Frog (Feldman) going head-to-head with his old buddy cum vamp Sam Emerson (Corey Haim). (Ideally, Haim would have to show up to the set for this to actually work).

You can purchase Corey’s new album here (and it’s quite a good listen. Feldman sent me his first album a few years back and that was rather good, but this is even better – you can tell he’s sweat a little me over this; he’s taken the life-jacket off and not being so safe. It’s worth picking up!).

“Lost Boys 2 : The Tribe” is finally hitting DVD in Australia next month. You can pre-order it here.
