Hannibal actor joins Fifty Shades sequel

“Hannibal” actor Hugh Dancy is set to play Dr. John Flynn in Universal’s “Fifty Shades Darker”, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Dancy joins returning stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan in the James Foley-directed sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey”, releasing Feb 10, 2017.

Dr. John Flynn is the “psychiatrist that Grey begins seeing after the reappearance of his former lover (who initiated him into the world of S&M), Mrs. Elena “Robinson” Lincoln (played by Kim Basinger). Originally from England, Flynn moved to Seattle after he married an American woman.”

Tyler Hoechlin, Rita Ora and Marcia Gay Harden also star in the pic, currently lensing in Vancouver.

Foley will direct both “Darker” and the next film in the series, “Fifty Shades Freed”.
