The 30th annual Film Independent Spirit Awards took place today with familiar award season titles “Boyhood”, “Birdman”, “Still Alice”, “Whiplash” and “Nightcrawler” all making a splash at the event.
“Birdman” nabbed the Best Feature award with the star of the film Michael Keaton taking home the award for Best Male Lead. Julianne Moore won the Best Female counterpart for “Still Alice” while “Boyhood” director Richard Linklater won Best Director.
