First look at Renee Zellweger as Judy Garland as new film starts production

Renee Zellweger is going back in time to play Judy Garland for new biopic “Judy”. The film focuses on Garland’s later years, and is being directed by Rupert Goold.

The flick takes place 30 years post “The Wizard of Oz” in the time where Garland is performing sold out shows in London. It’s set one year prior to her death.

The film will be a lot darker than the 2001 miniseries “Me and My Shadow”, and focus on a lot of Garland’s demons in the lead-up to her death at age 47.
