Four writers vying for 50 Shades of Grey

Karen Croner, Dan Fogelman, Veena Sud and Kelly Marcel are in the running to pen the “50 Shades of Grey” film, according to THR.

Fogelman, writer of “Bolt” and “Cars 2”, is the most recognizable name among the bunch but “50 Shades” is definitely a bit racier than the family fare he’s known for.

Croner wrote the upcoming Tina Fey movie “Admission”; Sud was a writer on the stylish and dark series “The Killing”, and Marcel penned the upcoming Tom Hanks film “Saving Mr Banks”, about the making of Disney classic ‘Mary Poppins’.

Though he’s not on the list, “Rules of Attraction” author Bret Easton Ellis has publicly announced that he too is interested in the job. He has even asked his Twitter followers for casting suggestions, should he ever get the job and have such a say.

Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti are producing the “50 Shades of Grey” film.
