One for the ‘great! but not totally unexpected’ pile : Marvel Studios has announced that Joss Whedon will return to write and direct the sequel to “The Avengers”.
Whedon signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Studios for film and television through the end of June 2015; part of the deal includes doing the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster, as well as shepherding a new Marvel-related TV project.
In other words, Whedon’s going to be a big creative voice behind much of the upcoming fare from the studio.
