Freddie Prinze Jr among Star Wars potentials

It looks like that new “Star Wars” animated series is officially stomping along the icy terrain of Hoth, according to THR.

With “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” coming to a close now that Disney owns LucasFilm, “Star Wars: Rebels” will hitting our screens soon, filling the ‘Wars toon void.

It is anticipated that the series will take place during the 20 years between Episode III and Episode IV, and will apparently revolve around “a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hinting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.”

Word on the street is that David Oyelowo, Freddie Prinze Jr, Vanessa Marshall, Taylor Gray and Steven Jay Blum are in talks to voice the lead characters for the show.

As yet, there are no specific details on the roles available; however, it is anticipated that the series will soar onto our screens sometime in fall 2014.
