Friday the 13th & Rings get new release dates

Paramount Pictures has shuffled their release schedule, pushing two horror features back a year.

The studio’s new “Friday the 13th” sequel will now release on January 13, 2017, moved from an original date of May 13, 2016. David Bruckner is directing the film from a screenplay by Nick Antosca.

The other affected title is “Rings”, which was initially supposed to open this year but has now been slated to release on April 1, 2016. The sequel to “The Ring” is directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez and stars Alex Roe, Matilda Lutz and Johnny Galecki.
