Sam Rockwell : Amazon Studios wanted to make Galaxy Quest 2

This’ll inflate your balloon.

Sam Rockwell tells Nerdist that, had Alan Rickman not passed and Tim Allen’s TV commitments not gotten in the way, he and the cast of the original 1999 comedy “Galaxy Quest” would be filming a sequel right now.

According to the actor, Amazon Studios was set to produce a follow-up to the cult favourite, with everyone – including Rickman, who recently passed from Cancer – back onboard.

“They were going to do a sequel on Amazon and we were ready to sign up for, and you know, Alan Rickman passed away and Tim Allen wasn’t available, he has a show, and everybody’s show was all weird. We were going to this sequel on Amazon. It was going to shoot like, right now.”

In addition to Rockwell, Rickman and Allen, “Galaxy Quest” featured Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shalhoub, Enrico Colantoni, Justin Long, Missi Pyle, and Daryl Mitchell.
