Geoffrey Rush to paint Stanley Tucci’s Final Portrait

Geoffrey Rush has booked himself the lead role in writer/director Stanley Tucci’s “Final Portrait”.

Rush will play Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti in the pic which is based on American art critic James Lord’s “A Giacometti Portrait”.

The film focuses on the relationship between Giacometti and Lord when the art critic agrees to sit for a portrait by his friend. However Lord is not prepared for the painter’s intensity, hence their relationship is tested to the core.

Potboiler Productions’ Gail Egan, Ilann Girard, Fred Hogg and Olive Productions are producing.

HanWay will launch international sales at Berlin’s European Film Market.
