Will finally gets to make the “Land” movie
The on-again off-again on-again “Land of the Lost” movie, starring Will Ferrell, is again, er, on again.
According to Variety, Universal – who lost a fair bit of moolah with another comedy, “Evan Almighty” recently – have cut the budget down from $125 million to $100 million. Brad Silberling (“Casper”) will direct.
Ferrell has been circling a couple of other pre-strike projects but this one that one that got it together in time. He’s been attaching to the beast for a few years now.
The adaptation by Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas revolves around a disgraced paleontologist, his assistant and a macho tour guide who find themselves in a strange world inhabited by dinosaurs, monkey people and reptilian Sleestaks.
