Gina Carano will join Ryan Reynolds in Fox’s “X-Men” spinoff “Deadpool”.
Directed by Tom Miller, Reynolds stars as an assassin who is dying of cancer who undergoes a procedure that is supposed to cure him. However he ends up twisted and scared while also imbued with super-powers.
MMA champ turned actress Carano will play Angel Dust, a little known mutant whose ability allows her to elevate her adrenaline levels to provide her with super strength. In the Marvel comics, Angel Dust was a member of an underground mutant group known as The Morlocks.
T.J. Miller and Ed Skrein are also set to appear in the film with a female lead yet to be cast. Six actresses are rumoured to be in the running and it is also believed that Daniel Cudmore will come on board to play Colossus.

Production will likely kick off in Vancouver in March. Lauren Shuler Donner is producing.
