Girls actor to star in, co-write Apatow comedy

“Girls” co-star Andrew Rannells will star in and co-write a new comedy for Universal Pictures, Deadline announced today.

Rannells, who who got his big break on stage via “The Book of Mormon”, will have Judd Apatow to guide him through the movie-making process. Apatow’s company would produce the untitled comedy.

The actor next appears in the Robert De Niro/Anne Hathaway comedy “The Intern”, and has several other movies on the way, so is clearly making a splash.
