Gareth Edwards has exited Legendary and Warner Bros’ “Godzilla 2”.
Edwards, who directed the first film in 2014 and was on board to helm the follow-up, has reportedly exited the film in order to pursue his own projects.
The hunt is now on for a new director, with the film slated to open on March 22, 2019 – though apparently Legendary and Edwards agreed on the split before that date was set.
Max Borenstein wrote the current version of “Godzilla 2”.
