Hot on the tail of yesterday’s announcement that newcomer Jessie Usher has snagged a lead role in “Independence Day 2”, director Roland Emmerich has revealed two more thesps who’ve been contracted for a duel with E.T.
Liam Hemsworth (“The Hunger Games”, “Paranoia”) and Jeff Goldblum – reprising his role from the 1996 original – are locks, according to Emmerich’s instagram post.
While it’s unknown who Hemsworth is playing (though it’s said he’s the lead of the movie), Usher is filling the Will Smith void -playing the actor’s on-screen son.
“Independence Day 2” is due in theaters June 24, 2016.
