Guy Ritchie joins The Man from U.N.C.L.E

Warner Bros is flinging it’s lucky “Sherlock Holmes” horseshoe towards the long-gestating “Man from U.N.C.L.E” movie.

According to Deadline, Guy Ritchie – director of the two “Holmes” pics; the latter of which is released in a few weeks – has been asked to produce the film. With Steven Soderbergh recently departing the film as director, there’s also a chance Ritchie may agree to direct.

“U.N.C.L.E” is going to be one of the first projects produced by Ritchie and partner Lionel Wigram under their new production company banner.

George Clooney was attached to star in the Soderbergh version of the film. Considering Ritchie’s solid relationship with Downey, even Brad Pitt, might we soon hear of a familiar A-lister joining the team?

“Sherlock Holmes : A Game of Shadows” premieres in the UK tonight.
