HBO has ordered a half-hour comedy pilot from Lena Dunham and her “Girls” team about feminism in the 1960s.
Titled “Max”, the pilot is described as “a comedy set in 1963 and revolving around the stirrings of second-wave feminism, as seen through the eyes of an ambitious magazine writer who stumbles her way into the women’s movement” (via Variety).
Dunham will direct with Lisa Joyce set to star.
Murray Miller will write the script. Dunham, Miller, Jenni Konner and Ilene Landress will exec produce.
