A documentary about famous former First Lady and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton looks like it might finally be in the works, according to THR.
Citizens United have today announced that it will proceed with plans for the doco, with the yet-to-be-titled movie being released theatrically as well as shown on television and home media, though partnerships are under wraps at this stage.
Citizens United is described as a largely conservative organization that is frequently criticized by more liberal parties.
President and chairman of Citizens United, David Bossie, has announced that the documentary will be released in 2016, ahead of the next presidential election. It is expected that the film will not be a flattering portrayal of Clinton but will most likely explore her life as Secretary of State from 2009 – 2013.
Bossie has commented on the NBC and CNN’s decision to ditch their Clinton-based projects, saying that “they were doing everything in their power to make Hilary look good” and “ours will not be a puff piece designed to promote a Hilary Clinton presidency.”
Other movies from Citizens United include “Occupy Unmasked”, a critique of the Occupy Wall Street movement and “Fast Terry”, a film about former chairman of the Democratic National Committee Terry McAuliffe.
