Long-Lost Gere/Claire Danes flick bypasses theatres
According to an article in Video Business, the Richard Gere/Claire Danes drama “The Flock” – about a hypervigilant federal agent (Gere) who, while training his young female replacement, must track down a missing girl who he is convinced is connected to a paroled sex offender he is investigating- is headed straight to DVD.
Frankly, I’m not at all surprised – it’s such a hard sell. I’ve seen the flick, and though I’ll admit Gere is as solid as ever and the film as a whole holds your attention, it’s not a super movie by any standards.
Weinstein/Genius – who next week debut the long-lost Michelle Pfeiffer/Paul Rudd comedy “I Could Never Be Your Woman” on DVD – are the distributors.
