Horror Helmers : Bousman for St. Agatha,Fincher for World War Z sequel

“Saw” franchise alum Darren Lynn Bousman will direct psychological horror film “St. Agatha”, Deadline announced today.

Shooting begins this week in Atlanta on the female-driven genre film.

“I have always been drawn to narratives with strong female characters,” said Bousman. “In St. Agatha the writers have constructed a literal convent of interesting and unique women put in dramatic, suspenseful and even tragic positions.”

Meanwhile, David Fincher’s name has popped up again in relation to “World War Z” sequel.

The movie, which was recently removed from Paramount’s release calendar, hit a roadblock when director J.A Bayona departed in recent months.

Fincher, who has worked with Brad Pitt on numerous occasions not to mention earlier expressed interest in directing a follow-up to “World War Z”, is said to be still “very creatively interested in directing the movie,” a source tells THR.

Surprisingly, the trade is informed, the ball is in Paramount’s court.
