Hudson Hawk’s laziest heist yet!

As much as I love Bruce Willis (old episodes of “Moonlighting” and “Die Hard” are atop of my ‘old reliables’ inventory), I’m starting to get the feeling it ain’t too hard to attach him to a film. So long as its got financing, has some sort of a readable script, and doesn’t team him with a woman his own age (god forbid!), he’ll do it.

Latest case in point : “Set Up”, a heist film that will team Willis with – wait for it – Paul Walker and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson. If the man’s co-stars don’t encompass enough stench, check out Variety’s synopsis : “a group of friends are catapulted into the middle of a diamond heist that turns deadly. ”

One won’t be surprised to learn that deep-pocketed career destroyers Emmett/Furla Films, responsible for such abominations as “Righteous Kill”, are behind the pic.

Someone named Mike Gunther is directing.

Willis’ upcoming films include Rian Johnson’s “Looper” (sure to be the best thing he’s done in years), “The Cold Light of Day”, and new “Expendables” and “Die Hard” sequels.
