Hugh Grant to play famous playboy actor?

Hugh Grant as a big-time Brit playboy? Nup, just don’t see it. See me make joke, right there – sentence before last, right at the top there just….yeah, OK.

Grant is set to star in a film as legendary 60’s playboy Peter Lawford, says Sky News.

Lawford, as the site says, was a rather tragic chap who had a lot, but lost it by the time he shovelled dirt on.

A member of Frank Sinatra’s "Rat Pack," Lawford became much more famous for his off-screen antics – had a problem with drugs and grog, was married four times- than his on-screen work. His films included "Little Women" (1949), "The Longest Day" (1962), and "That’s Entertainment" (1974).

In his later years he was reduced to doing guest-spots on TV shows such as "The Love Boat", and "The Patty Duke Show".

No word on who’ll play Marilyn Monroe in the movie. Lawford was the last person to speak to Monroe before her death. He and brother-in-law Robert Kennedy apparently waxed lyrical with the screen siren not long before she was found dead.
