Indiana Jones star nixed from fourth film

No, it’s not Sean Connery

All these “Indiana Jones 4” announcements are making fan-boys do a jig… this’ll stop them dead in their tracks.

No Sallah.

One of the series’ most popular characters, Indy’s hefty subordinate Sallah, played by John Rhys-Davies, will not be back for “Indiana Jones 4” (or “Indiana Jones and the City of Gods”; as some online casting agencies have it listed).

A scooper for Dark Horizons says that the character – who appeared in “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” – has been nixed in favour of some new younger – that would include the character of Indy’s son, played by Shia LaBeouf – characters; something that’d have anyone screaming bloody murder!…. or pranking Spielberg… one or the other.

Aside from Harrison Ford as the Man in the Hat, the only other original series cast member likely to return for the new film is Sean Connery, as Indy Sr. Earlier rumours suggesting that both Karen Allen (Marion Ravenwood) and Kate Capshaw (Willie Scott) would appear, seem to have disappeared with daylight savings.

Colin Firth… Dancing Queen?
